About KC Scholars Awards
Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ participates in several KC Scholars award programs with Great Jobs KC. Also, all KC Scholars recipients will have any Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ application fees and tuition deposits waived.
The traditional KC Scholars award is given to low- or modest-income 11th graders (high school juniors) from one of the six KC-area counties: Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte (MO), or Johnson and Wyandotte (KS). Learn more about the .
This traditional scholarship provides up to $10,000 per year for a recipient's college costs for up to five years. The award can only be used at KC Scholars partner institutions, like the Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ. The funding for the award is paid directly to the student's college.
At Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ, KC Scholars Traditional Scholarship recipients will also earn an academic award up to $17,500 a year, and can qualify for talent (athletic or fine arts) scholarships, as well as Saint Mary need-based aid. Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ will ensure that traditional KC Scholars recipients' out-of-pocket costs (for tuition, room and board) will not exceed the value of the student's federal loans after all other scholarships, grants, and aid (Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ and non-Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ) are applied.
The KC Scholars Adult Learner Scholarship provides up to $50,000 in scholarship aid over six years for eligible students. Recipients must be 18 or older, have an earned high school diploma, and have not earned a bachelor's degree. They can be enrolled full or part-time, on-campus or online.
The award is for students form one of the following six counties: Wyandotte or Johnson in Kansas; Cass, Clay, Jackson, or Platte in Missouri. Funds are paid directly to the college. To receive the funds, the college must be an identified KC Scholars partner, like the Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ.
Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ awards a special Saint Mary-sponsored scholarship to students that have been identified by Great Jobs KC. These select students — who have not received a KC Scholars Traditional Scholarship — receive a $20,000 annual scholarship from the Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ for up to five years.
Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ-Only KC Scholarship recipients cannot qualify for talent or other scholarships from Saint Mary, but can still receive Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ's need-based aid.
To maintain the Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ-only award, recipients must remain in good academic standing at Ä¢¹½tvÊÓƵ and participate in Student Success activities as requested.
